Mighty Mule openers are light-duty by design, which means the mechanical parts around them carry more stress than the motor ever will. Here’s what we find on Venice gates, by failure pattern.

• MM371 / MM571 hinge brackets tearing out of the post. The bolt pattern on the factory post brackets is tight, which concentrates force on roughly three square inches of tubing. In Venice, salt air accelerates rust at the bolt holes, and the bracket pulls loose or the post wall itself cracks. We reset posts, weld hinge tabs where needed, and pour proper footings.
